Dan was first introduced to competitive swimming at the age of 10, when he joined Epsom District Swimming Club. He competed throughout his childhood at county and regional level, primarily in freestyle and butterfly, reaching National level in the 100m butterfly.
At 15, Dan began helping with his club’s learn-to-swim programme and quickly discovered a passion for teaching. At 16, he started running his own classes and assisting with the younger squads. He later began coaching a masters squad and gradually took on more responsibility with the club’s competitive swimmers.
In 2019, Dan joined Epsom College as their swimming coach and he continues to manage the college swimming programme as the Head of Swimming. In 2022 Dan joined Leatherhead Swimming Club as the Lead Coach for their Regional and National Development Squads.
In 2024, Dan was appointed Head Coach for Surrey County, where he leads the county’s athlete development programme. Dan also works with Swim England South East as a Skills Coach, working with swimmers on the regional talent pathway.
Dan founded Swimplicity to create a focused, skills-based training environment for club swimmers looking to improve their technique, speed, and race performance. Swimplicity brings together his passion for high-quality coaching and long-term athlete development.
Kieran began his swimming journey at the age of 8 with Epsom District Swimming Club, where he developed a strong foundation and passion for the sport. By 15, he had taken his first steps into teaching and quickly discovered a love for helping others progress in the water — a passion that has shaped his career ever since.
Over the years, Kieran has held a variety of teaching and coaching roles, including at Epsom District, Dunottar School, and the RAC Club in Epsom, gaining experience across all levels of swimmer development. In addition to his coaching work, he founded KC Swim School, where he continues to deliver high-quality learn-to-swim programmes in a supportive and structured environment.
Kieran is passionate about technique, progression, and instilling confidence in every swimmer he works with. His proudest moment as a coach came in 2019, when he led his team to victory in the Junior Arena League, a reflection of the commitment and team spirit he brings to every programme.
As a co-founder of Swimplicity, Kieran brings a wealth of practical experience and a calm, focused coaching style that helps swimmers unlock their potential in and out of the pool.
